Private ADHD
Assessments

Why would I want an ADHD assessment?

Better understanding of yourself is key.

Understanding oneself better is a powerful tool for personal growth and

well-being.

This understanding can lead to more effective strategies for
managing daily challenges, improving relationships, and achieving your goals.

Let us help you discover the answers and support you need today.

What do we do?

At Focus Mind Wales we provide Private ADHD assessments. We know the NHS does amazing work, but we also know the tremendous strain it is under, and the waiting times for ADHD assessment can run into years as a result.

We can provide an ADHD assessment followed by a written report explaining our assessment and steps you can take to support yourself whether you're diagnosed or not.

In a number of cases, medication may help with some of the aspects of ADHD. We can assess you for this and if it's right for you, prescribe and monitor the medication after you start taking it.

Assessment Process

FAQs

  • Who will be doing the assessment?

  • Lee is our Lead Clinician. He has 20+ years clinical experience and is specifically qualified to assess and diagnose ADHD.

  • Where will the assessment take place?

  • If you choose to have a face-to-face assessment, the assessment will take place at an office in Llanelli (near the North Dock).

  • Does having an assessment guarantee a diagnosis?

  • No. The assessment is completed according to a strict set of NHS criteria. You will need to meet the criteria for the diagnosis of ADHD.  If you don't meet the criteria, this means you may still have a number of traits consistent with ADHD. In this case we will still offer advice and guidance to try and help you manage going forward.

  • Does having a diagnosis mean I have to have medication?

  • Not at all. Some people want a diagnosis simply to understand why they've felt or acted a certain way and want support on how to manage.

  • Some people won't be able to have medication because of their medical history or because it would interact with medication they already take. In this case we will still offer advice and guidance to try and help you manage going forward.
